Here you can see the Beaver/Coyote Bridge in its entirety. I love this piece for its condensed grid pattern and the shadows it casts as it is illuminated from below.
The Moose Diorama has been completed! Here, you can see the walkway that plays on one’s perspective. Now one can literally enter the diorama – rather than virtually – and experience the moose environment. On the way out, viewers can see the rest of the Mammal Hall reflected on the walkway.
With the mountain lion diorama, I revived the Repercussion series and expanded it through the use of carpeting rather than paper. I wanted to create a new habitat for the mountain lion. I did this by building out a jagged wooden base – playing on the existing environment – and overlaid the carpet on the newly created framework.
After three weeks racing against the clock to install Habitat, I arrived back in New York to celebrate my birthday. It was perfect. And now that I am back and have the chance to unwind, more photos from the installation will be posted!
